Title: Rear Mount Turbo ?

 Sure is. They were ragging on this car on e30.net awhile back, but it was an interesting discussion.

yes that is a rear mount turbo.  They are VERY inefficent for the 318is.  LOTS of piping, TONS of lag, can't lower the car...
 
But there is no need for an intercooler and you don't have to have a turbo manifold.  This setup is only good for car's w/out room in their engine bay.  The 318is has an abundance of space under the hood.  w/out my fan I can literally stand in my engine bay.
