check fuel pump fuse or relay
-
do you know which relay is for the fuel pump?
-
Here's a picture of the fuel pump relay location (http://www.m42club.com/forums/showpost.php?p=61326&postcount=7)
There's a lot of good test procedures in the Bentley. First make sure you're getting spark and then make sure your fuel pump is working.
What kind of work have you done on it recently before the problem?
-
like i said there is a new fuel pump in there. i swear it sounds like spark plugs but im unsure. no special work was done on it really. im going to check the fuel pump relay right now.
-
nope. not the fuel pump relay.
-
how can i tell if there is a spark or not?
-
get a lighting spark plug wire tester (harbor freight) and disconnect one wire at a time, put it in one of the wire ends and crank it over.
Change spark plugs, see if there is oil or water or a mix in the cylinders.
-
Also, check all your electrical connectors in the engine bay. You could have a plug that fell out, maybe wasn't all the way in.
Did you mess with the spark plug wires and put them back incorrect? (probably not eh)
ICV connected correctly? It has an electric plug on it too
