Ive been looking around to try to find a throttle body spacer?
NO LUCK AT ALL!
Any one know a place to get one?
-
What does a throttle body spacer do exactly?
-
They were originally invented for engines with carburetors. They bolt between the TB and intake manifold -there are claims that they increase air volume / change air flow patterns to increase hp, torque and mpg. To me they mostly sound like garbage "cheap hp" mods. In truth I think they can be effective on certain applications, of which ours is probably not one.
edit: If you wanted you could just leave your TB heater plate in and it would work just as well...
-
yea personaly i dont think it will do much either but if i can find one cheap why not its worth a try. I have nothing els to put on that would be cheap other than a tbs. I just wana find one

Want my TB heater plate?
Stack two up and you have a nice billet aluminum spacer.
-
how much?
-
tb spacer makes it sound like you have a turbo...no gains. ive seen many efi applications with no dramatic increases in power before/after the spacer.
-
it sounds like just making intake runners longer to adjust the powerband config.
-
what's this panic about the spacer? essplain.

As roundel said, it is like making intake runners longer. Longer runners are good for low rpm power and short runners are good for high rpm power. The same applies for exhaust manifold/header. You can also change plenum volume and shape, as well as intake port size and shape. Metric mechanic has an interesting intake manifold design which incorporates pulse chambers.
