Title: Jacking Points
Post by: brian-pat91-318 on November 30, 2008, 05:50:00 PM
im new to the bmw world and i own a 91 318is  that im working on and ive noticed that theres almost no places to jack the thing up. it seems like theres no room that can support it except for the subframe which i dont want to damage. i also fould two little squares one on each side right behind the fron tire that look like surfaces made for jack stand.....is that correct?

If you are missing the factory jack, a trip onto ebay for a used one would probably be worth your while.

NO! NO! NO!

These are not jacking points. They are hollow and will collaspe under the weight of the car.

It would still be a good idea to get a factory jack. My car is low enough I have to use the factory jack to be able to get a scissor jack under the car.
