I think my block is cracked, but I am not entirely sure on this.
The car has not lost any power at all. But when I pull the dipstick out, there was a yellowy film on it.
I've done head gaskets before, but on chevy small blocks.
The car is not burning oil, or coolant. The exhaust has no funky smells to it.
I am starting to liquidate parts that I've gotten for the car, but I don't want sell good new parts if this is just a simple fix.
I don't know BMW's aswell as Chevy's, and I think coolant in the oil pan is a cracked block. Is there an area on these engines that could fail, and allow the coolant to go places it's not supposed to be??

def either one of the two, profiles were famous from the factory for going fast, this late in the game, who knows :)

What weight oil are you running? Last winter I was running Mobil 1 Synthetic 15W-50 and I was getting that milky residue. I think it was freezing and then melting -- the resulting condensation producing the mikiness. Currently I'm using 5w-40. We had a cold November and no milkiness so far.

John W, I think you hit the nail on the head there.
I changed the oil, and there was no clumps, or discoloration (besides being used of course, it was darker then new).
It seems like it is just in the dipstick area. Ofcourse if I dropped the oil pan(s), I'm sure I would find more deposits.
I changed oil from the Mobil1 synthetic to a Formula 1 synthetic. It was on sale, and cheaper then the no name brands.
Either way, I think I need a suburban anyways, now I can have both.
