To those internet guru people in here, how can we get our priority up on Google and such? When you type in M42Club as one word, it comes up on Google 1st. If you just type in M42 Club, the 1st link is for a thread on bimmerforums about the E36 M42 club. I could not even find us on any of the subsequent pages.
So, how can we get better listing? Do the meta-keywords need some additions and that sort of thing. I know the number of clicks a site gets from a search has to do with its listing priority. So, suggestions?
Thanks for all the great work so far, we have come a looong way!

well I don't know how is but I hear that it changes every month or so...
that way people "can't" do it

just put keywords everywhere, but try to work it in so it not like those sites the wrore the search engines. put m42, club, bmw, and e30 in the header, title, and wherever else you can think of. I have never used any forum software, but that is my advice.

It is much more difficult than people think.
It used to be you used metakeywords, and the words on your pages are what search engines used to determine the best match for your search.
These days metatags are used for informational purposeses, but rankings are based on how many sites link to you.
So if you want to raise our status, get us linked on as many sites as possible. As it is, we are already slowly climbing at a decent rate.

As Sheepdog says, search engines like Google rank you on many factors, the number of sites linking to you is a major one so get as many links to the club as possible.
The old meta tags keywords aren't used by many search engines anymore.
Try and put the most common search phrase at the beginning of the title. Something like "BMW M42 Club - M42club.com - Home of the BMW E30 318i & 318is" or "BMW 318is Forum - M42club.com - Home of the BMW E30 318i & 318is" depending on what you think people may be searching for.
Also put important keywords and phrases on the home page. I have read that some search engines prioritize keywords if they are in larger fonts and bold too.

That is also a problem.
Many search sites are now banning sites that have the same terms over and over again, as they see it as search engine spamming.
The linking is the most effective way.

Well, good. Lol, almost any time I post somethign on BF.c I mention the club. Lol, does having a link in your signature count, so every thread you post in elsewhere counts as a linked page?
I will be sure to add it to my site as well. Dammit I need my site listed in places as well so it can be Google'd!

I am pretty sure it is domain based.
As in one point per site linked, not per link on every site.
