Title: 3 step clean, polish, wax . . . see the results
Post by: kramerica5000 on June 19, 2006, 07:52:47 AM
My dad and I spent Father's day detailing our cars. I did my first 3 step detailing of the IS and man is it worth doing. If your car is a little dull or has paint contaminates, this is really worth doing . . . it can make your paint look new again. My paint looked pretty good, except for my hood where there were streaks of oxidation. The 1st step paint cleaner took all that out and brought back the original deep red. Then the polish made it look sexy.

I think the paint on our cars is better quality than typical. If seems really thick and hard. If yours is dull, there's probably a good chance that there is good paint underneith the top oxidized layer.

Anywho . . . here she is:

I just used Meguiars 3-step that you can find in any Autozone. I used a machine buffer a little, but mostly I did it by hand.

I didn't use it this time but a cleaning clay works great for removing surface contaminates like tar, sap, etc.

I hear ya man. You should be glad you don't own a black car.  Sap and swirl marks are terrible.
