Hey guys, I'm trying to remove the front plastic part (black strip) of the bumper on my '91 318is. I'm going to be getting clear side indicators and clear turn signals soon so I would just like to know how I remove the black plastic part of the front bumper so I may install those. Thanks! :D

You don't need to remove the bumper strips to swap the signal lenses. If you do, you'll likely break the snap tabs off.

I found a site already from another thread that shows how to completely remove the front bumper, allowing me to swap signal lenses. But I'm still interested in how to swap them without detaching the bumper strip?

If all you're doing is the lenses they unscrew from the front of the car. The side markers pop out. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to do all 4, and that's if you take the time to take the bulb out and clean the reflectors for the turn signals.

Yeah, I've figured the side markers out. But I did try unscrewing the turn signals and after getting the screw out, they were almost stuck in there and I didn't want to mess around with them. Is there a way to pry them out?

just pry them out or use a hook through the hole for the screw and pull it out they are in there kinda tight though

Number 2 in the pic I posted is a gasket. That's what's making your old ones tight. Even if you take off the entire bumper you'll still have to pry the lens cover off the bucket. Just do it. Worst case you break one, but you have new ones, right?
