I searched but found no info on this.
I want to replace my cooling system this winter (water pump, hoses, thermostat, radiator, etc) and would really like an all aluminum radiator if possible.
I find nothing but E36 6-cylinder radiators all day long, but they are larger and the hose connections are different. Is there any way to fit one to an M42 car? Or is there an aluminum radiator for my car that I have overlooked?
I see that Carr has an E30/E36 radiator coming, but it does not specify which models it will fit.
Thanks!

here ya go (and for anyone else looking for an all aluminum E30 radiator):

Sweet...yeah I saw that and it says "all E36 cars" but I am skeptical. I must call BimmerWorld!
-
it fits, i have an e36 m3 radiator in my s50 swapped car

I was wondering the same thing. I need to replace my radiator soon and am thinking a 6cyl E36 radiator should work in my 4cyl E36. Larger=more efficient cooling. Or so I think...
-
Are they even any bigger? I really wanna put in an electric fan (or 2) as well.
-
Yeah the 6cyl radiators are larger. They've also got detachable expansion tanks, so are easier to repair. :)

What hoses are needed to use a E36 radiator in an M42 E30?

back from the dead... any update on this? I'm in the same boat but I need to put the larger radiator in an e30.

Why do you want to go fitting oversized rads? The standard one (even the slightly smaller M40 one) provides perfectly adequate cooling for the engine even on track.
To save messing about if you genuinely need a larger rad then Nissens to a 'longer' version of the standard rad (I believe the cabs where fitted with them? not sure why), which will be a simple straight swap and I imagine more than enough. So do the M42 rads?
