Title: S14 $1000: Should I?
Post by: darknight on October 19, 2008, 07:23:29 PM
There is someone locally that is selling an S14 motor/trans/ecu/wires for $1000. It has about 130K miles and the maintenance on it is questionable.

Is this a fair price?

That sounds like a very good price.

If everything's running you should be able to at least get your money out of it....

Do it, and then have it completely rebuilt into a 2.5L monster. That's what I would do.

I bought few months ago S14 & "dog leg" trans for 1500€.  1000$ is a fair price if the condition of that engine is OK. Buy it, and get next Alpha N for that engine....

I think it's "too" cheap if you ask me...surely there may be something wrong with it.

That cheap the motor must have 200k is my guess, gotta take in to account 1k for the motor and at least twice that to rebuild it.
