Hey guys,
First real post...sorry it took so long! I have a tired 92 318is (299,754 miles). I replaced the engine and 5 speed with a set up from a 95 318ti. The new deal came with a harness but no DME. We changed out the coil setup and connected everything. The engine turns but won't fire. The DME for the ti engine is not to be found. Is there anything short of a lobotomy that will make this baby fire up? We cut the EWS wire but it still won't start. We have worn out the pages of our Bentley manual and burned several searches at realoem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Junk yard ebay?
Have you checked for spark and fuel?

It came from a running 318ti. It was replaced by an S52.
The lack of fuel/spark seems to be the issue. It acts like it's out of gas. I can't hear the fuel pump kick in. The interior is gutted to the metal so I shouldn't have any trouble hearing it. I can handle the nuts and bolts but the electrical stuff is slightly over my experience level.

Have you:
jumped the fuel pump relay to test the pump?
pulled a spark plug to check the spark?
I should think that a pre EWS ll DME would work since it's the engine you have changed and not the DME or ignition switch.
Now, the 92 had an air flow meter. Does the 95 have an AFM or MAF?
