Anybody with an M42 powered e30 using a Sparco strut bar?
If so, how did you make it fit? Washers underneath the studs? Bang on the bottom with a BFH?
I'm just curious as to the best method of fitting the bar with the M42 intake so close.
Any help is appreciated.

I knew I remembered seeing it somewhere, couldn't remember what forum. I tried a search for "sparco strut bar" and didn't find what I wanted.
Has anyone tried putting washers under the bar? I'd really like to not dent the hell out of my bar...

I tried it, but I wasn't happy with how much thread engagement there was on the strut mount nuts. With the bar raised high enough to be off the manifold, the nuts barely went all the way on - they were flush at the top of the strut mount bolt. If you could find longer bolts for the mount it would probably work out.

Another option is the mason engineering bar that fits perfectly and is also slightly more rigid than the sparco bar. Of course, it costs almost twice as much...

Just by looking at the bar i don't believe its very good.. But it is a cheap bar for our car.. budget bar is what the sparco is.

I had found a pretty good deal on the Sparco, pulled the trigger, and the seller shipped it to the wrong address by accident. Thank god it came back to him with a return to sender. Then there was a shipping mix up so he just returned my money.
