Since I'm selling my car with 220,000 miles on it, I got curious and decided to see if my car has the original engine in it. I found a # on the side of the block(driver's side) and it doesn't match the car's VIN at all. Just wanted to know if I was looking at the right #. Thanks. If it's the right # my car has a newer engine:)

I may be wrong but the engine number has nothing to do with the vin#.
They now could include the vin as a security measure like they do for glass and body panels, but there should be a seperate engine #.

Correct.
