The owner manual says that the 318is differential fluid capacity is 1.32 quarts. I ended up using 2 quarts and it still didnt fill up and trickle down like it said in the Pelicanparts.com article. So, i was just wondering, should i add more? or did i add too much...? I'm sorta confused  HOW MUCH DID YOU HAVE TO ADD? By the way its a 318i CONVERTIBLE, does that make a difference in the fluid capacity?? THANKS in Advance

No way you could put that much in the stock diff. That 1.32 qt sounds about right. I always have at least a half bottle left over.Maybe the PO put a medium case diff in.

yeah....i feel really stupid. lol. i THOUGHT i put 2 bottles in a gallon container... but anyways i did another mistake... i accidentally added tranny fluid with differential fluid, so, i have about .32 in the diff and 50/50 mix of tranny and diff fluid in the transmission. WOULD THERE BE ANY COMPLICATIONS?
This was my first time changing those fluids, but i look at this way, a week ago a guy hit my whole mirror assembly with his car, and the mirror moved forward and the only thing damaged was the mirror itself, so i told him to just replace my mirror. i went down to the dealership and i was getting a replacement key for my e36 after that i asked the lady if i can get a price quote for a replacement mirror. I was thinking 60$ for a mirror? hmm.. so i went home looked up the p/n and it was actually for an e36 not an e30. So i showed the guy the price quote and he gave me 60$. lol.

What kind of transmission fluid did you use? The 240 Getrag specify ATF, aka Auto Tran Fluid.
If you put that in your diff, I can foresee some type of fault in the future.
