Title: torque wrenchs?

I need a low range torque wrench due to the low torque specs on this thing. I haven't had much luck in finding anything. What are people using?

snap-on, craftsman prof. Blue point, Jet, etc... all have/make torque wrenches.

I have a Craftsman for tightening things like air plenums and valve cover bolts.  God only knows how many times I've done this....

I use a couple-decades-old Craftsman beam torque wrench for that stuff. It isn't terribly precise, but it works pretty well.

is that the one with the big dial on it, and you measure the torque by the flex?

I bought a set of "click" type torque wrenches from HF a few years back. I used them on my personal projects for 2-3 years and one day out of curiosity I took them into the calibration lab where I worked and asked to have them checked just for S&G.

I was quite surprised to find they were well within specification and the lab tech said he was somewhat impressed with the build quality, especially considering what I had paid for them.

That's good to know.  I've been needing to pick one up and I always eye-ball the ones at HF.  I just didn't know if I could trust them.  I wonder if the build quality has gone down in the years since you bought yours.

I've heard similar stories about Northern Tool. I didn't think to try HF but I've had a difficult time finding a wrench that covered the low range the M42 requires. I ended up ordering one by Gearwrench through Amazon. Can't comment on it, it isn't here yet.
