My engine is making some sort of grinding/vibrating noise when I turn the wheel, Car hasn't moved since last time I started it, and this didn't happen last time. I've got a video up loading to youtube right now and I'll post a link to it once it's uploaded.
EDIT*Sorry, It's a 91 318is

There's the video. RPMs also seem to drop slightly/ So I'm guessing SOMETHING is rubbing.

power steering fluid. Make sure the reservoir is full with ATF.
-
I checked my power steering fluid and it was low, so I topped it up but still nothing has changed. I opened the cap to check the fluid again and the fluid had a bunch of bubbles on top of it.
-
The bubbles are coming out because you are bleeding the system. Top it off and run the steering wheel for all the way to the left to all the way to the right a few times. Then top it off again until you don't see any bubbles coming out. The system is full of air and its going to take a while to bleed it all out. If its been run without PS fluid for too long, your pump might be damaged. Make sure you use ATF, not power steering fluid. If somebody used anything labeled as "power steering fluid" that will destroy the pump in no time flat. Use only ATF.

ATF is what I used.
There's a leak in a hose so that's why its low
-
time to go to manual steering.
-
I had the same problem. Just keep working on fluid into the system. It should go away after that.
-
this weekend I get to clean all the hoses and find the damn leak.
-
ps pump sounds toast?
-
I think it might be.the car doesn't get driven at all ATM, but I started it last night to move it under the car port, and it made the noise. not as badly though.
-
yeah my 318i has a leake in one of the hoses too... I was lucky to catch it when i heard it at first... i havnt really had time to look at witch hose it is but i can tell its one of them... you PS should be good as long as you didnt drive it too much with it empty... my was really low and i filled it up and drove it for like 10 miles and its fine now... but still leaks..lol.. but the bubbles is it pushing the air out of the lines ... kinda like bleading brakes... but its doing it on its own...
