Post by: FedE36 on August 23, 2008, 05:05:55 AM
I have been seing these around and I am really curious to what the differences/gains are, which model has which, and what do I need to intall them. I'm going junkyard hopping on sunday and I want to know for if I see one. Thanks!

Picture 1 - from an E36 M42 318is (my car)
Picture 2 - from an E30 M42

The E36 manifold is said to be better because it uses short & long runners depending on engine speed. I don't think the E36 manifold fits onto the E30 M42 because of clearance issues with the bonnet.
