Definitely looks nice!  I can't really read German, but the description seems to indicate that this was a 1.8 liter engine from a 318iS.  From what I can see, it's basically a shell and that you'd need pistons, valves, cams, etc...

You guys over in Europe always get the goodies when it comes to BMWs!!  .....:D

That motor is absolutely gorgeous. I would love to see the car it gets plopped into! If you want to read the google translated page click here:

What kind of internals would be required to make that sucker run??

And what kind of power numbers could you expect to get??

That intake is silly cool.

Already discussed here:

http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6387

Basically, only thing that seems to be from Hartge is the valve cover :D

Crankshaft is from 1,6 liter M40, exhaust manifold is different to stock M42 but no idea if it is actually better because very different lenght primaries... And there are no internals for block or cylinderhead. Useless piece of junk I would think :)

ops, I didn't read HUB 72 and bmw codes in bigger pics, only watched thumbnails!!!!

so, +1 on the "useless piece of junk", and a lot of people will offer money thinking that it is the real 2114cc with 91mm stroke... :(

Why would you not buy it? You've tried selling "restored" engines before that were worse than that...

Although if I had the dough, I would have bought if for the valve cover, then hung it up on my wall.
