:cool:Hi there fellow members, I am in need of a little help here guys.
Rite let me start of by saying I love wide wheels alloys and rims. I would like to know how wide can us E30 owners go??
1. How wide can we go with rims at the rear without any extra modifications? I.e. spacers etc
2. How wide can we go with extra modifications i.e. spacers etc?
I am talking about the front and the rear how wide can we go all-round with and without extra modifications.
Cheers guys
All help is much appreciated
Many Thanks
Jazz

There is a lot of factors in helping decide how wide you can go. If you're on stock suspension you can go really wide because you're not "tucking" the rim. Also tire size plays an important role. Try asking this question on r3vlimited.com

Heres some more information guys if this helps:
so far i have come across
Front wheels 17" - 8"wide
& the rear
Rear Wheels 17" - 12"wide
would this rim fitment work with our cars ? and is there any minor/major modifications that would need to be done to achive this?
Cheers guys

WOW!!!! A 12" wide wheel in the rear of an e30. That would be interesting. LOL the widest I've seen ppl go with stock fenders is 9.5" and that's with tucking/rolling of fenders.
-
Wtf do you need 12" wheels for?
Our cars have what? 140 ftlbs of torque?
-
lol DANNY when its done im sure your lil willy will be up and strong my friend.
i have big plans just want to do something nobody has ever done before i mean why shall i stick to regluar good looks god damm its a diffrent style that will have a good look im sure.
it may not be 12"wide but i would like it to get that wide if not then i wouldnt mind 10 or 11".
-
Well go for the 12". Im with you on the unique look. But, that means you either have to get custom fenders if you drop your car, or don't drop the car and keep the stock body. Make sure to post pics when you are done.
-
do you also think about the tires?? 12" wide for 17" rims?? lamborghini shoes... +2000.-$ each tire.. and you are gonna need some extra 15hp only to turn the wheels...
-
I will post pictures when its all done it is not going to get done anytime soon but im sure it will get done sooner then later and ill post pistures for you guys to admire lol thansk for all the help guys
-
I think that question is not right. It should be how wide we shoud go? I think there is no need more than 9" with 300hp.
-
welll every1 to their own choice i guess dude
-
But honestly, where are you going to find a 17X12 rim, or even a 17X9, that is 4-lug. That's my biggest question.
-
......wheel adapters. Not my recommendation but they do work.
-
where thers a will there is a way my friend.... there are many who will work and make it for the money.
-
haha... lol at this thread.
I personally wouldn't settle for anything less than 13" wide rears. But that's just me.
-
lol, I'm 100% confident that this will NOT be happening. however you can go 5 lug to avoid the use of wheel adapters....
but you should just go with these.... 14x15 (yes, thats right, they're wider then they are tall) with a -70 offset, and 4x100 spacing.

or these... they're more bmw core. BBS with a conservative 15x13.5, also 4x100. currently for sale too.

Oh man! I know overall diameter is different, but I tried fitting 18x9 d-force wheels with 275/35 toyo's on my car which has m3 style fiberglass wide body fenders on it. They are about 2 to 3 inches wider than factory e30 fenders. They might have fit in the rear, but they hit the shock housing and were really close to the inner fender, but 12" wide! Thats crazy. If you do it I want to see how it was done.
I do not see anything bigger than a 17x9 with 245's fitting without some mild to serious modification. This might even be too big for stock trim.
you could go this style!

I guess anything is possible if your willing to put time and money into it though.

these wheels are from a porsche. 18x12 with 315's. If you can fit a half barrel in your fender you can fit these!!
