Does anyone know what color wire corresponds to which terminal in the 2-way connector going to idle control valve? The PO of this motor had the wires pulled out of the connector and I am trying to fix it. Thanks.

according to the e36 manual
white/yellow go to #1
red/white go to #2

Do you guys know if later M44 e36 ICVs will work the same as ours? I have a good source for them but finding them for the M42 is not as easy.
Thanks!

According to Pelican Parts here are the part numbers
13-41-1-433-627-M14 - E30 318i/is/iC - M42 Engine (E30)
13-41-1-435-995-M14 - E36 318i/is/iC (thru 01/94) - M42 Engine (E36)
13-41-1-433-627-M14 - E36 318i/is/iC (02/94-1998) - M44 Engine (E36
The E30 M42 & E36 M44 seem to have the same part numbers so I would say yes, you can use them.

Thanks for the reply... that's odd though that the 94+ 318s use the same part number as the e30s but the 91-94 use a different part. I'll go do a little more looking.
Thanks!
