Title: Head rebuild
Post by: Frank Gallegos on July 18, 2008, 05:33:23 PM
My profile gasket blewout, took the head off and sent it to a shop to check it out.  They presure tested = ok  but did say the head would need to be ground down.  To just grind the head they would charge me $250 but said they could also put in new valve guides as 2 of them needed it for a total of $620 and that is with me providing them the guides.

Could someone advise me on this and would it be a better choice to get a rebuilt head and if so where could I find one.

Thank you for taking the time to read and a special thank you for those who chose to advise.

that sounds like your getting screwed buddy. I got my head milled, all new valve guides, and a valve job for 300$.
