Title: Exhaust hardware.
Post by: D. Clay on May 27, 2006, 03:46:17 PM
I have an OEM exhaust. I shimmed the trans mounts with washers to raise the converter up an inch or so. I go through those little rubber bushings on the back of the trans faster than I can put them in. Currently I have removed them and bolted the bracket direct to the piece on the trans tailshaft. Anyone else have any problems or solutions for the low hanging exhaust? Speed bumps in parking lots cause it to hit when the front wheels come down unless I take it real slow. Car is lowered but not slammed. Maybe 1.5-2".

Just noticed that my converter and resonator are round. Are the OEM converter and resonator more of a flat shape as in realoem. Also do other folks have the exhaust bracket pictured in the realoem drawing. My bracket has two rubber bushings that sit vertically between #4 and #7.
