Title: Bmw E30 325i Touring Auto
Post by: no1_jazz on July 14, 2008, 03:32:26 PM
Hi there guys,

A friend of mine needs help with his E30 325i touring. It’s all standard. The only thing he has done to I is installed a 3.91LSD.

It’s an auto with the switchable sports option. The problem he has is that his fuel consumption is very poor.

With 10pounds of fuel he only gets 25 miles.

Is this normal or is his car drinking more fuel then it should.

All help is much appreciated

Many Thanks
Jazz

He needs to replace his o2 sensor. He many miles does it have? New fuel filter and maybe new injectors will improve his MPG.

.....cooler motor=worse fuel emmisions, in most cases. you might want to reconsider that E36 radiator "upgrade". but it souldnt hurt fuel milage THAT much.

Has it been bad for awhile? The tranny may also be slipping. Autos in geteral tend to get a bit worse than average fuel economy. Usually, though, it is just the O2 sensor.
