must i change the wiring harness for this procedure? anything else i should consider? engine is in transit to where my car has been sitten for 1+ yrs now

You have to change complete intake manifold, oil pan, oil pick up, complete wiring harness, and ECU.

if you are putting it into an e30 you keep the stock wiring harness & ecu. you only need to change the other mentioned stuff.

Thatīs what I meant, you need to use the E30 wiring harness, I said change the complete wiring harness reffering to the E36 engine harness.

why is it that the oil pans must be changed?? cuz i actually dont have the oil pan from my m42 that im taking out...

the e30 has a two piece oil pan with the sump in the front. the e36 has a single piece oil pan with the sump in the rear.
