Title: Tony92ic intro
Post by: tony92ic on July 05, 2008, 10:26:29 PM
Okay, I've been lurking around here since I discovered the site last fall.  With my car tucked away for the winter I couldn't get a decent photo for the intro so I am finally just getting around to it.

I like reading yours and seeing your cars so I have felt like I owed you all the intro.

Here's what I have.

1992 318ic
Laguna Green
5 speed

Mods:
-Performance
Complete E30 M3 suspension - springs, sways, strut tubes, hubs - the whole enchilada with spring pads removed and rubber M3 offset control arm bushings
Bilstein Sports
E30 M3 calipers and rotors
SS brake lines
750il master cylinder (common E30 M3 brake upgrade - too big for other e30 brake systems)
COP conversion w/Bav Auto HP coils
Magnaflow muffler and SS tip
Eibach Strut bar (really firmed up a very loose ic front suspension)
Odessey Dry Cell lightweight battery
Ellipsoid Lights
15" oem M3 wheels (but longing for a set of 17". Not sure the chassis can take 17" wheels on MN roads)

-Appearance
E30 M3 1 piece shift knob/boot
E30 M3 leather handbrake boot
Ebay seat covers (Love em for the price. Cabrio interiors take a beating so not willing to go reupholstry route)
Kamei Front splitter/lip spoiler
Blaupunkt Miami Beach headunit with Sony Xplod component speakers in kick panel and tweeter pod up front and Xplod coaxials in back.
E30 M3 red cluster needles. (an ill advised mod. I realized later that I probably could have made the whole cluster work.)

-Mods I have parts for but not time:
Mustang injectors and intake hose removal
Mustang convertible rearview mirror. (It has integrated map lights and dome lights and glues to the windshield like e30 cabrios. Need to replace the windshield first.)
M steering wheel. (What's the odds a 16 year old airbag will work anyways.)

The car's a driver and no beauty queen. Someday I'll fix a couple of cosmetic rust spots and some minor hail damage, but right now I am busy driving it.

Those seat covers look like they fit quite nicely...where did you get them?

Laguna Green vert's are hot!!!

The seat covers came from Iggee.com.  I got them off their ebay store. $179 for the fronts and I think $125 for the rear including the extra headrests.

They fit pretty nicely. They are obviously covers and not reupholstry. For a vert I wanted something that would wear pretty well and they seem to be made from some pretty tough vinyl. I have had them for a couple of years with no problems.

The seats under mine are trashed. The rear was pretty much just foam in the seating area. Would never guess it with the covers on.

They install much nicer if you pull the seats out.

The tan is probably between pearl beige and natur in color, but I think it looks fine in my natur interior. You can also get them in multi color like black and tan etc. I had a mustang convertible with a black interior once. You don't make that mistake twice. If it was a tin top I would have gone all black.

nice looking 'vert!  I'll have to eventually get the time to take pics of mine and post them up too!  I have the same interior color scheme, except my exterior is the common BMW black.
