Title: Request for engine bay pics
Post by: M42boy on May 22, 2006, 07:10:09 PM
Okay, I'm in the final stages of getting everything hooked back up, and I'm having amnesia.  I see lots of similar black rubber hoses in here and can't for the life of me make sense of where they're supposed to go.  RealOEM confises me even more at times.

I think some pics of engine bays (especially intake side) would be very helpful.

Can someone take a few good pics of thiers or if there are some online, post them here...

I'm specifically looking for pics of the ventilation hoses in proper locations, how the heck the hydraulic reservoir mounts to the body (is it a 2 piece??) and all the hydraulic/fuel lines over on the intake side.

THANKS A MILLION!!!

Expect a phone call tomorrow afternoon.

Car is up in Brassleton, not too far from Road A.  :(

Just discovered I drilled the holes for my RSB in the wrong place (and the whole time I thought I had them lined up so it would drop right in).    More work ahead.

More holes = less weight, right???    Any engine bay pics that might be a helpful reference?  I can't seem to figure out how the damn hydraulic reservoir bolts up to the body.

I meant to say PS reservoir.  I keep reverting back to my Audi days, which all ran on Pentosin ("green gold") vs. our cars which use generic ATF.

Need some up close of the vent hoses and how stuff mounts to the body and PS lines on the intake side of the engine bay.  A few nice pics should help.

There are some differences with the UK cars though, as you guys drive on the wrong side of the road and all.

But, I'll take anything since no one else is responding.  THANKS! :D

Anyone with a US spec car, please post a few...  see above what I'm looking for.  Not looking to see your beautiful valve cover and exhaust manifold.  Just hoses, mountings, and the lot.

lol no worries. sadly my car isnt much use to you as the breathers have been massively simplified - the coolant runs straight from the block to the head, missing out the U bend, t/b heating plates etc. for a start. but there is a good diagram from realoem with arrows on it that robin (lordschleife) put up on this site that shows how the hoses should go.
these might help for the p/s too?

i know where they all go too, so if you describe the prob mb i can help.
cheers

Thanks a lot for the pics Tim...  And, special thanks to eNine for helping out last night.  Was a very productive night.  Motor and drivetrain went in and got a lot of the loose ends together last night.  :D

Thanks again for the help!  Call me when you get off of work if you want to come out again.  We could always use the help of a 318is expert!
