Hi all! May I know where I could find a M47 crankshaft apart from getting it at metricmechanic? This is because I feel 1.5K is a little too expensive for a crankshaft.
Thanks!

You have two options besides MM, you can go to any BMW dealership, and order it directly from them (around $900). Or you can search one on ebay.de, they go on once in a while. I got mine there for 400€ (around $600). Maybe someone sells the whole M47 block, but just email the seller and ask him if he doesn´t mind to take the crank off from it. Look for: "320d kurbelwelle" or "M47 kurbelwelle"

for an M47 reference so you can know what cars carry that engine.
Be patient, it took me a month to find one, and I was determined to get it, so I bidded high to make sure I would win the auction. It went cheap though... Because the dealer price up here(Spain) is about 900€ ($1300).
Other than that, it´s quite difficult to find one on the states, since it comes from a diesel model.
If you need any more info, just ask.
Good luck on the quest!!
