my stamped alum tag says "410 9051" ... that means i have an open 410 dif & not a lsd, right? ... and does anyone know what the "9051" means or relates to? ... thanks

mine is stamped the same. I heard that it should have an S in the number if it is LSD.
Otherwise it is open.

There were replacement diffs that came with a string of numbers.  I can't remember the details, but it's mentioned in the E30 Bentley guide.

The tag would say S4.10 if it were an LSD...as well as have a white painted/stamped S on the top of the case.

+1 my tag says S4.10, and that's it.
