Title: Steering Rack ID
Post by: andrson76 on June 09, 2008, 12:42:37 AM
I picked up a ZF remanufactured rack that is supposed to be from a 95 M3, however, I'm having my doubts.
The rack has 3.2 turns lock to lock.
The rack has been painted black, but appears to be silver underneath that (I believe the M3 should be gray anodized).
There are 2 numbers on the rack:
One is not very visible on a plate on the short part that connects to the knuckle.
The other is too many digits and not close to the numbers on RealOEM.
Any suggestions for ID'ing the rack?

Thanks,
Andy

There should be a plate which should have BMW part number + other text in it. If it is not there, there is a reason for that.
