Just wanted to show off our latest on the M42. We did the coil on plug conversion and it was super simple and a great upgrade.
Problem with stock setup is the spark plug wire are subjected to a lot of heat from the factory headers. This causes them to fail more often and the wire set if not cheap.
The coil on plug conversion consists of 2 studs, 4 nuts, 8 bolts, mounting plate and 4 M5x coils. (not exactly sure what coils as the customer supplied them)
Mark your 4 original coil connectors, remove coil pack and wire set. Remove 2 original valve cover bolts and replace with studs. Lay in the mounting plate, install your new coils, make a 1" cut in the factory harness and plug in the coils, start engine. Done!
Here is a picture and a video. The whine you hear is from all brand new timing components and engine.
