Title: seat belt stitching
Post by: monty23psk on May 28, 2008, 11:20:36 AM
hey guys,

does anyone know of a shop that would be willing to stitch seatbelts. I found a place where I can order the red or any color webbing, just need someone to stitch it so I can use my existing hardware.

Will save me time from calling everyone around town.

Wow, good luck with that! I'd be surprised if you could find someone that would be willing to assume the liability for assembling seatbelts for a car that is driven on the street, particularly using webbing you provide.

You may have better luck checking out the availability of racing belts, which even then are not generally DOT approved.

^ I got some one to do the stiching. He will use stronger thread and mimic the pattern. I will be buying brand new seatbealt webbing. Depending on how much length of belt I need, will have it done for under $200 compared to the $600 for the red evo ones.

Good for you - that sounds like a pretty good deal.

^ If all goes well, he might start this for other customers, as long as they sign a waiver.
