Title: Valve Cover Gasket?

I'm debating whether or not to take off the Valve Cover to remove the cosmoline (With a sand blaster) and I was wondering, If I take of the Valve Cover do I have to replace the Gasket also. It has been on for about 6 to 7 months since it was last replaced. Thanks Preston
