Title: Another Cruise Control Question!
Post by: Royalratch on May 04, 2008, 08:12:26 AM
Hello all.

I have a full Cruise System installesd and I replaced the loom with a brand new RHD loom from BMW so that I know everything will connnect up nicely etc.

It's all plugged in, super easy etc but when I get to the equipment provision panel behind the glove-box, the slot that provides the power to the Cruise loom is empty! No pins, male or female. It's as if the car was never meant to have it. So I know some of you have just given it a feed from elsewhere (there are many 12V feeds to splice into) but there are 2 wires and I could really use some clarification.

Of the central connector shown, White/Purple is for power but what does the other colour do? (Green/Brown). Can I just ignore it?

So close to sorting it out now would love to wrap this up!

Anyone? Shall I just go with the White/Purple?

Yes white/purple connect to an accessory circuit.  The other wire ties into the brake switch to drop out the CC when the brake is depressed.

Are you sure? Because the brake switch is very far and there's no way that part of the loom will reach back across to the pedals.
