you could take this as a great opportunity to do a nice rebuild on the head:)

as for replacing a valve, its a pretty easy job, just buy a valve spring compressor, compress the spring, pull the keepers off, and lift the spring of. there ya go, the valve is free.

You may want to get new valve guides and stuff like that if your already this far though, but it depends on your plans for the car.

Ok so i finally started on this project..(damn job taking up my time). I have read judt about every post on this site and i do have to say i have obtained alot knowledge thro everyones posts. I got all the way up to getting the manifold bolts off. Then the head bolts will be removed tonight. I am going to rebuild the head valves guides the whole 9. It really was not as bad as i thought to remove this stuff (lets hope i put it back togethor right). I want to replace the injectors mine look bad. I read the posts on the mustang injectors. I think i can achieve that. I will be putting up alot of pics tonight on my rebuild and design thoughts for everything. My car was built 03/1992, for some reason my body looks alot different than most peoples i see for the year my car was manufactured. I hope my engine is along the same lines. Just thought i would give you a update and let yeah know your time was not wasted and i appreciate your help. Thanks

Hay there Rob,
I too have been checking out alot of the posts here as I have started a head gasket job.  This will be the first time I have ever taken an engine and opened her up.  It has been amazing how just from all of the information and pics that are on this site my job has felt like I have done it a hundred times before.  These guys have been a great help for me as well.  I too have now been thinking of redoing my head but have been having tenative thoughts so if you have any luck with it, please keep posting so I may learn from you as well.   Thanx

Frank

If you are doing all that you should hot tank everything to really get the carbon off and then do a 5 angle valve grind, that'd be nice. Mustang injectors are on my list too.
