Title: O2 retrofit problems?
Post by: Shift_Now on April 27, 2008, 09:14:25 PM
ok, so I put in the Intrepid O2 sensor retrofit thing peopel were doing over on R3V, and it worked fine for a while, but now when I accelerate hard (ie:0-70ish MPH) the little green lguht with two arrows will come on. Anyone know what this light means, becasue I cannot do the "CHECK" light thing to check the codes. When I turn the car off or if I let the car idle for a while, the light goes away, and won't come back on until I do the accelerating hard again

what's the R3V "O2 retrofit"?

I know you can purchase a multitude of O2 sensors and use them with nearly any make/model just by splicing after the vehicle's original O2 connector and splicing in the new O2...  I've done this in the past with no issues ever.

For instance, you can purchase a Mustang heated DENSO O2 on rockauto.com for $32 and use it in nearly any make/model vehicle after snipping or splicing the wires & connector...

is this what you did - just use a generic O2 and spliced it into your existing O2 harness?

Where about does this new "light" show up in your dash cluster?

What year/model car is this?  I know some non-US cars were cat-less and as such O2 sensor-less.
