Title: e36 vs e30 m42 turbo diff?
Post by: omar85 on April 20, 2008, 08:28:33 PM
i see this manifold online for an e36 318

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-Turbo-Manifold-Header-BMW-E36-318-4Cyl-W-Down-Pipe_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ004QQitemZ140224738997QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

is there a reason and if so what is the reason this wouldn't work on an e30 318 (w/ m42 of course)  i really want a reason to not put in my m20b25 but i am not satisfied with the amount of power my m42 makes.

what options are there for turbo manis for the e30. thanks.

ya i know of that one. really expensive. i has hoping for something like 524td mani that i have for my m20, or maybe the obx one works and is somewhat decent quality.

i also found this. http://www.kormanfastbmw.com/turbos.htm only talks about e36's. why?

The location of the shock tower relative to the engine may prevent you from using an E36 manifold in an E30.

We have the 666 Fab manifold and it's been great.  I believe I have the first production manifold Jon built.
