Title: Redline with MarkD chip?
Post by: bmw327 on April 15, 2008, 07:15:42 AM
Drove the little beast to work yesterday for the first time - what a riot!

Anyway, does anyone know what the redline is for the M42 with a 93 octane Mark D chip? It pulls pretty well in the upper range, but how far to push it?

Where did you buy it from?  I'm looking for it on the cheap.

MarkD's site says 7100 I believe..

Thanks - it came attached to the car with the original in a case, so I don't know where to get a cheap one.

Best,

CJ

7200rpm is where mine redlines....all the way down the rev counter..which is cool lol. I drove a stock M42 yesterday...incredible what a change that little chip makes.
