Title: Need advice.
Post by: 318is93 on March 23, 2008, 09:00:15 PM
Can someone who has experience with removing/installing M42 cylinder heads and the valvetrain please pm me? I'll be putting my motor back together here within the next few weeks and I have some questions!

Biggest problem with the valvetrain is the cams.
Being hollow they can snap if you remove or install one cap at a time. You need to clamp it down equally a little at a time. Otherwise, it is pretty straightforward from any other head.

I think I have everything now. I'm just waiting on parts and then i'll actually be doing it so something might pop up later. :)
