Title: m42/m44 crank sensor
Post by: martin347 on March 23, 2008, 06:21:16 AM
Does anyone know if the m42 and the m44 crank sensors are the same?
I know they are in different places, but is the actual sensor the same?
Thanks, Martin.

The sensors are the same type and the M44 block mounted unit is compatible with the M42 electronics. The cam sensor is different.

Hook an ohm meter up to the two pins at the plug end . You should have about 1260 ohms .

thanks! i'm still wondering if this is the problem (i cant test it right now)
i have misfires issues and was wondering if it could be the cam sensor or crank sensor?? i will do a complete ignition COP overhaul since that could also be the problem and i always wanted to upgrade to COP

i can't find any part number for the crank sensor and the only price i have is from bavauto and its really expensive: 169$!!

thanks for the help
