Title: 318 convertible differentials - what gears & type of rears were offered?
Post by: Cobra Jet on March 14, 2008, 12:13:43 PM
I was link hopping and came across another site which had some E30/M42 faqs.  Among the listed faqs with regards to the rear differentials offered, it stated that the convertible 318's had 4.27 gearing (I think it was non-LSD)...  Is this true?

Were there rear gearing options for the 318 convertibles or did they all come with the same rear gearing?

Were all convertbles non-LSD's?

Is there a tag on the rear or a way of decoding what gears or type it may be?

The tag on the diff will tell you the ratio, and an "s" after it would indicate lsd.
