After reading of this (http://www.astoundingimages.blogspot.com/) guy's adventures of painting a car with essentially a 4 foot long fluro tube I wondered how I could recreate the effect myself. All I had was a 12" 12VDC fluro work light (plugged into the same car's ciggy lighter) and a bit of spare time, so after reading how he did it in seperate exposures I followed suit and started to "paint" the car with it.
This first shot is done with three seperate exposures (all 15s f/14), one to light the front and one each left/right.
The result, whilst not perfect, is good enough for me to share - i'm well aware that the sunroof isnt perfect and that the grill near the badge looks a bit bodge, but its all a learning curve right? :D

Second is the first one but with a bit of edit and having a lightning bolt hit the car (the 'bolt' is real, and not done in photoshop!), and the thrid one is side on.

Either way i think i'm happy enough with the result to try this again at some point.

Check flickr for the higher res, should be something reasonably large up there!

Canon 20D with 24-105 lens.
