Hello Everyone..
I am doing some research on exhaust upgrade for my e30 318IS.
I was hoping that you guys could share with me your knowledge and expertise on this topic
What aftermarket exhaust systems do your cars run on..?
Hoping for a bolt-on application for easy installation for current use and maybe easy removal for further future upgrades (Hopefully)
I sourced a SuperSprint Exhaust.
Cant get the manifold though.Only for LHD setup.
But its gonna cost me $1500 inc freight
Very Epensive. What do you guys think..?
Your input would help me tremendously.

you want only cat-back or a full system from headers?
I can tell you that original 318is headers are a work of art, and IMHO not worth to change them.
For catback, there is eisenmann, supersprint, remus, ac-schnitzer, g-power...
where you are located? Australia?

Dude Your car already comes with headers . If you want a performace gain I recommend Header wrap. I did it . It takes all the heat out of the engine bay and shoves it through the exhaust pipe. Also I hammered out my Cat. Down here in Florida we have no vehicle emission inspections. I LOVE this state. With the header wrap you have to purchase new nuts and gaskets. DEI makes the header wrap in different widths and lengths. Only two colors though. Black and Natural. It will take you on or about a day to wrap. Even if you don't hammer out your cat the extra heat that is not lost to the engine bay will burn out all the extra carbon in your exhaust system giving a more free flowing exhaust. Cool.

I was not aware of the quality headers that the car has.(Thanks nuvolarossa)
Which one did you opt for? or intend to go for?
BTW - I am based in Perth, Australia.
Thanks for the replies..
Hopefully more come thru

Thats Awesome !!!!
However, I wont be able to take on your option...
Perth(Australia) has very strict vehicle inspections. Of course there are many who take the risk and mod their cars to full blown status.
I am not gonna take the risk of my beloved car being taken away...
Thats the main reason why I am opting for bolt-on applications.

I'd think twice about wrapping them due to trapped in moisture aka RUST, especially in wetter climates. A good alternative, though more pricey is to get them swain coated.

Header wrap is the quick road to a cracked manifold.

I Have a Sebring on my car.
love the looks, love the sound.
No real power gain however...

What size is our muffler? Sebring is the only company i've seen who sells by muffler circumference...
never mind, figured it out

I put a OEM replacement from Bav auto and gained a few whp. The exhaust is much different from the one that was put on the car 17 years ago. The sound is nice and much different than what came on the car. (Throaty down low with a slight rasp up high.)
-
You can always go custom, like I did but then you run the risk of super-rasp.
Like my car has lol.
Sounds really kick-ass inside with the windows up, but (especially at cold-start) it is quite raspy. It isn't necessarily the rasp that bothers me, but is more that it is just really droning.

Hodge add one resonator in there ;)
