i'm trying to find information on the forums about the fan blower
i never had the fan working. heat is coming through when going 120 on the highway but the fan is dead
i was looking on bavauto.com and saw there are 2 types of blowers, 2 types of blower resistor and one blower switch
how can i know what i need to change? i dont want to spend 300$ on the blower if all i have to change is the 15$ switch
is there a write up on this topic? it would be really helpful since i have no clue where the resistor or the switch are!!
thanks!

You should pick up a bentley manual.
I would check the fuses first. If they are good then I would say its the fan because when its on the max setting its not supposed to be using the resister. However I know of circumstances where a bad resister can make the blower temporarily inoperable.
The resister is right below the fan. To get to it you just have to remove the panel covering it and then pull a couple plastic tabs. Once your that far pull the plastic fan cover. The resister pulls straight out and the fan can be removed by releasing the clip holding it in place.
Get a bentley though. Its a necessity.
