Title: LSD Differential Options
Post by: Paul Strefling on March 03, 2008, 06:43:53 PM
I have a few questions that I was not able to find with the search.

Basically I would like to know if I can buy an LSD, say a 3.73 and put my 4.10 gears on it and install it in my small case. Which leads to the question, what is the difference between the small case diff and the large case diff?

I believe that is all for the time being. Thanks.

The difference is the size of the internals, 318is E30 has the small diff case with 168 mm ring gear and 325/M3 E30 has the larger one with 188 mm ring gear. The large diff with LSD is almost bullitproof while the smaller diff with LSD is pretty weak. The internals are not interchangeble.

That explains it very well, thank you.
