Title: Brake pad wear sensor
Post by: Cobra Jet on February 27, 2008, 08:41:20 AM
Why do some owners of 318's disconnect, cut or don't use the brake pad wear sensors?  I have seen multiple threads where folks who bought a used 318 have discovered disconnected or cut brake pad wear sensors and have come across some threads where others just don't use them at all...

?

Is this just an "annoyance"?

Because most after market brake pads are not set up to accept the factory sensor. I got rid of mine too. Took all the wiring out too all the way back to the fuse box. Save a whole .01lb. :D

I figure people get annoyed by that light for a while, and they are told or they realize they can bypass it so they just take it out.
If mine had been diconnected, I wouldn't have done an uneccessary brake job when my non-oem starter install caused the light to glow all the time.
