Title: 318ti poor running

hi, can someone please help me with my wifes 1995 318ti it keeps going flat asin has no power drives like a 1.3 . there is no rime or reason to when it will do it you can be driving along and then it suddenly goes guttless it can do it either when hot or cold not do it for weeks on end or everyday. it only seems to go back to normal when you turn it off and leave it. it will also sometimes hunt on tick over. i have replaced the ecu temp sensor,plugs,coil pack,plug leads,oil/filter,fuel filter,airfilter,lambda sensor. tried a s/h air flow meter cleaned the connections on the ecu, cleaned all earths checked the cam timing had it checked on a fault code reader a couple of times (no faults showing). i'm loosing my patients with it now. is there anything i'm missing or any common running fault please help:confused::eek: many thanks for any help in advance

check the electrical connection on your MAF sensor

Have you tried swapping in a known good ecu ?
