anybody out there who has pushed stock conrods in an m42 to breaking point?
im running 22psi and i have stock rods, im planning on pushing that upto 25psi
but im starting to worry about the rods....
i have been told they should handle 20psi, well i know for a fact they do, but how far can i keep pushing?
-
We've been as high as 27 but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
-
More info on your setup?!
-
they are cast correct? i personally wouldnt go over 15-18psi especially on stock CR (i hope you lowered it).
-
I thought the rods are forged on m42s, the pistons are cast iirc.

i have lowered the compression to 8.0:1 with forged pistons...
ill dial her up to 25psi, we'll see how she holds up i guess

So you'll have stock rods with forged pistons at 25psi? What headgasket you have now?

heatgasket = cometic stainless steel

please give us some more info on pistons ( diameter and stuff ) and more info on gasket ( thickness )
i am planning to go to cometic gasket for pressure drop ( stock internals ) 9:1 so i can go to 0,8 - 0,9 bar press...so some more info would be good...

the head gasket i believe i standard thickness, to be honest in not sure
and the pistons are custom made JE Pistons 8.0:1 comp
