Title: british columbia
Post by: hoevesruperd on February 14, 2008, 11:55:03 PM
i'm sick of university,
i'm sick of the bus metro walk
and i am really considering going back west sooner than planned
i used to live in whistler BC, tho i never had a BC registered car

i know there are a few guys from BC here and
i'd like to know what are the tests your car has to go through since its 17 years old.
how much are the registration fees and how much is it to insure

i just felt more at home in BC than i ever did in Montreal (where i'm actually from)

any help will be appreciated
also, how can i make sure the car is reliable so it can take me 5000km away from here?

cheers guys!

We have Aircare its like $22 to run your car through. pretty easy to pass
As for insurance i pay about $170/mo with 15% discount

thanks for the info, thats exactly what i needed to know.
i guess there's a mechanical inspection as well.
if anyone knows the list of things that are inspected i'd appreciate

thanks again for the feedback, i guess i can expect to pay the same for insurance as i do over here

Well they check to see if your gas cap seals your tank properly
Then they test your car at idle then at a steady speed of 40km/h i think or something
to see if your CO2 and shit is higher than normal but its pretty easy to pass
