I already posted a short intro in the photoshop area, however I just realized I have not posted a member profile so here it is. I drive a 91 DS, Daily/Track whore. I am from SD, CA and this is my 2nd E30. I hate posting mod lists, but someone requested, so here it is.

WOWWWW!!!11!1 That's one nice DS car, even if the back is dented up a bit ;) How do you like the LTW flywheel?

haha yea. the back was rear ended by another E30 during a cruise before I picked up the car. as for the Flywheel, its AWESOME. The weighs a ton compared to the new one.

Great car! How is power-wise on track? Seems like you have mostly bolt-ons (and the right ones) with a little weight taken out. Also, how does it feels (again, power wise) compared to when the car was stock? I'll probably go with an M44 down the road should my current engine require major work in the future if for no other reason they're newer and will probably be easier to find.

Thnx! Well my original m42 had a cracked head, and this being my only car right now i needed a practical and affordable solution, thus the M44. It was a great choice, because it has low miles and fits right in. Another reason I went with the m44 was because it stays true to the cars balance, which is what I want out of my car. There is a slight increase in power compared to the stock motor, however the torque is where it shines! Specially with the lightened flywheel, the power output on these cars are so great because there is just enough to maintain speed through corners without crazy oversteer. Most of the cars on the track would pass me on the highspeed section, but I would return the favor in the turns ;). I had the advantage over the higher HP cars, because the turns were so tight that they had to significantly decrease speed while I could have my foot to the floor. A perfect example is a ferrari 360 modena that flew by me before we hit a double apex turn, he came screaming by me but as soon as we were in the turns the playing field evened out. As soon as we hit the double apex I was right on his tail and he spun out!! :D

Cool! That is what I was hoping for -- retaining the balance and character of the original, just adding a bit more punch to help move things along. One of the best cars I owned was a relatively stock 91 Nissan Sentra SE-R. My well balanced, but "slow" car was so much fun when it came to beating up on what were supposed to be much more capable cars during HPDE events.

more deets on your M44 install... we need a definitive how-to, just to cover the remaining bits...
