Title: Can of coiled worms?
Post by: P. Kennedy on December 16, 2007, 11:26:14 PM
At the risk of opening up a can of worms, I was just browsing the e46 Fanatics forums in search of ignition coils for my upcoming COP conversion.  I learned that in October of '05 Bremi coils were RECALLED and replaced with Bosch coils!  Apparently the Bremi's insulating material disintegrates and causes all kinds of codes and rough running for the e46 guys.

Is this generally known by M42 guys, and is it a concern?

No danger, just misfiring and throwing an ignition code.

The Bosch coils look different, so I'll probably end up snatching up the Bremi's
